In the Spirit of Giving Thanks, BMS Gives Back: Canned Food Drive
During the month of November, BMS students pulled from their pantries for a good cause. In the spirit of giving thanks, teams donated canned goods to benefit the hungry. This year, we collected 1,014 cans!
Pictured to the right is General Manager, Deacon Frank Tenorio as he receives canned goods for Kusinan Kamalen Karidat. A huge kudos to all teams who participated in this worthy cause, with special recognition to Team Y2K who donated 335 cans! This food drive was made possible by the efforts of this year's coordinators: Mr. Joey Lujan, Ms. Arleen Mad, Mrs. Jean Tabobo, Mrs. Marian Milan, Ms. Chona Eco, and Ms. Therese James. |

On October 17, BMS was privileged to have the Urban Dance Crew perform and speak to selected students about Bully Prevention. They shared their stories and their talent through dance. It was quite an experience for our Roadrunners.

9/11 Ceremony On September 11, 2013, the BMS family came together to remember, twelve years later - the realities of the attacks on the World Trade Center and how it affects us still today. Prior to the event, students participated in activities, discussions, and reflections, and were able to establish background knowledge about 9/11. Special Tribute Of particular emphasis on this day was the tribute to one of Guam's fallen heroes - Army Sgt. Jesse J. J. Castro. As a school community, we thanked his widow (and BMS' 8th grade Social Studies teacher), Ms. Theresa Castro and their son, Jesse Castro, Jr. for the service and life of their beloved. Also in attendance were his mother, Ms. Dorothea Jesus, sister Lisa and her family, and members of Ms. Castro's family. |
Acknowledgements
The ceremony - although only a little more than an hour long - was quite eventful. There are many to acknowledge and we list them here:
Special Thanks The BMS family is especially appreciative to all those who took time to share this day with us:
