WASC MID-CYCLE REPORT DRAFTREVISITING OUR VISION AND MISSION AND REFLECTING ON OUR CURRENT PRACTICESSY2020-2021 was definitely a year to remember. Roadrunners revisit our Vision and Mission and reflect on our current practices as we adapt to new challenges and constant changes to rise as an effective and outstanding educational institution.
WASC Visiting COmmittee arrive March 10-13The Visiting Committee arrive at our school campus on March 10 and conducted their classroom walkthroughs, interviews, meetings, and reporting on how our school is doing from March 11-13, 2019.
Focus Group Work Session(Sep. 28, 2018) Our school continued with our process of reflecting and analyzing our practices during the work session last Friday Half-Day. The Focus Groups were divided by (A) Organization, (B) Curriculum, (C) Instruction, (D) Assessment, and (E) Academic Growth, and facilitated by our Focus Group leaders.
Task IV Begins
(Aug. 13, 2018) So, the great task of completing Task IV begins on the very first PD of SY2018-2019. Faculty and staff must think critically about of our school's practices since our last WASC visit in 2013. Good luck, Roadrunners! You can do it!
School/Community Profile Review(Mar. 19, 2018) Our Chapter I: School/Community Profile went under review during our WASC work session during our PD. Teachers and staff perused through the chapter, giving input and correction. Teachers were then made aware of our school's strengths and areas for growth.
VSABMS SLOs and Indicators(Jan. 16, 2018) "We got to go slow in order to go fast," was something to keep in mind as we revisited our current School-wide Learner Outcomes and their indicators. "Are our indicators properly aligned with our SLOs?", "What are tangible evidences (artifacts) for every indicator?" and "What outcomes do we want our students to achieve?" were some points that prompted deep conversation amongst our faculty and staff.
SMART Goals(Aug. 14, 2017) As a learning school, we needed to build a consensus in the refining of our SMART goals. We got together with our content and interdisciplinary teams to develop our academic and behavior goals that are aligned with our new school vision and mission.
RAP Revision(May 31, 2017) On our last PD, we revisited BMS action plan, also known as the RAP. During this session, we collaborated together to align our strategies with the three RAP Goals.
Revisiting BMS Vision and Mission(May 18-22, 2017) To keep the focus on increasing student achievement, BMS teachers were hard at work refining the school vision and mission. They were envisioning where our school will be 5-10 years from now.

December Work Session (#4)On December 14, BMS faculty and staff participated in their 4th 'Focus on Learning' work session. On the agenda: 1) Building Consensus and Understanding, 2) Revisit of current Action Plan (RAPP), and 3) Reflecting on the Process.
